Two of the suspected Northern California, the veranda, the pirates, were found early Monday with 108 packets, or envelopes in the car, when the vehicle is rolled over to the side of the road while the couple were being chased by police, authorities said.

The Butte County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call around 1:50 a.m. for the report of a man who was seen possibly taking items from mailboxes in the area of Durham, a rural community about 80 miles north of Sacramento, the sheriff’s office said on Tuesday.

A drill sergeant had spotted a car matching the description of the suspect vehicle and gave chase, but the driver lost control before the officer was able to catch up, causing the car to flip over, the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

The sheriff’s office found the 108 parcels and envelopes addressed to approximately 56 men and 37 with the addresses”, with “methamphetamine, and a wallet with several gift/pre-paid type of card and several hundred dollars in cash,” he said.

The driver was identified as 41-year-old Jeremy Blumlein, of Chico; his passenger was identified as 26-year-old Breanna Maier, of Magalia, police said. They were both unharmed.

Both of them have been arrested and charged with identity theft, mail theft and a probation violation; Blumlein, was also charged with felony reckless evading and possession of a controlled substance, the sheriff’s office said.
