Suspect in brutal New York city rape and was arrested near the Canadian border after a weeks-long manhunt

A man accused of brutally beating and raping a woman in a hotel, in the borough of Queens in New York city, and the area has been arrested in Washington state after a manhunt that lasted more than a month.

Michael Hosang, 53, has been arrested by the police on Thursday at a hotel in Bellingham, Wa., less than 25 miles from the canadian border. Earlier this month, a 29-year-old woman escaped from the home with severe bruising and a broken cheek bone and is claimed to be Hosang had kept her there for at least six hours while he repeatedly sexually assaulted her.

She was able to escape out a second-story window, and then slid down a drainpipe, and ran naked in the street, and flag down a passing car for help, the New York Daily News reports. The officer gave her something to cover herself, and called the police.

The woman told the authorities that the Hosand had been beaten, strangled and gang-raped her, strapped down and handcuffed her in a room, and told her that he would kill her.

After they escaped, Hosang, fled to New York city in a red Chevrolet pick-up truck and was on the run for the past three weeks, until they were discovered in Washington.

He’s now awaiting extradition to New York, where he will face charges of first-degree rape, first-degree criminal sexual conduct in the first degree, aggravated sexual abuse and criminal obstruction of breathing, and the court records show.

Ever since the reports of the attack first came, the other women are said to have come up with similar stories about their frightening experiences, with Hosang, according to the Bellingham Herald.

According to his Facebook page, Hosang has been a manager of the Hoops, and Vivid Cabaret NYC, both in strip clubs in the New York metropolitan area. He also claimed that it had succeeded to the Sapphire strip club in mid-town Manhattan, and majored in accounting at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Social media is also showing that he has a daughter who is a graduate of Florida college in 2016.

Hosang posted on his Facebook page and at the moment he is attending his daughter’s graduation in florida, writing: “It has been one of those weeks. I don’t have bail money.”
