Suit with sensors may help in the recovery of stroke
People recovering from a stroke will probably be to their advantage to do with a suit with 41 sensors and the capabilities to store data and send email.
Bart Klaassen developed the suit together with an international team and will receive her phd there Wednesday at the University of Twente.
Every year in the Netherlands about 45,000 Dutch people with a stroke, after which they are often with physical limitations camps. Knowledge about the daily functioning of the patients can rehabilitation improve. That knowledge can now via such suit, home under the clothing worn by the patient, to the thearapeut.
“There was already a long time a great need for such a system, but the technology was simply not ready for it,” says Klaassen. “That is changing rapidly.”
