The Italian designer Maria Grazia Chiuri is the new artistic director at the fashion house Dior, made it Friday known. Chiuri follows the Belgian designer Raf Simons, who in October last year left. It is the first time that a woman is the function of artistic director will be assigned at Dior.
The 52-year-old Maria Grazia Chiuri drew, until recently, the collections at Valentino. They will now be responsible for the collection “haute couture, prêt-à-porter and accessories for women”. On 30 september she is going to her first collection of proposals. (Belga)
