Raw video: Volcanic lightning has been spotted on the like of ash and lava spewed out of Indonesia’s Krakatoa Volcano.

Is a German photographer who has traveled to the Russian island in the hope of setting of the volcanic-enlightenment — is a rare, but beautiful phenomenon, and this seems to have been what he wanted to do.

The photographer, Martin Reitze, 55, was recently captured stunning photos of volcanic lightning in the Ebeko volcano in Russia.

He told SWNS that he was a little less than half a mile away from the volcano when it erupted, resulting in the rare but natural occurrence that froze the ash plume of the volcano.

“It was strong enough to illuminate the entire sky, with the blue lights,” he told the news outlet. The self-proclaimed “volcanic observer”, he said, was “very lucky” to capture the moment, which has been documented in about 200 volcanic eruptions in the past 200 years, according to a 2010 blog post from the Oregon State University.

“In one piece, even if you are an avid volcano to an observer, it may take a decade to turn out to be such a lightning event. It has been an unusually high and rare volcanic lightning generated by the eruption of the volcano,” Reitze continues. “It was a scary moment, unexpectedly, and the whole landscape was bright, and lightning struck it, it irritated my eyes.

The exact cause of volcanic lightning, which usually occurs at the start of an eruption, a long discussion has taken place among the scientists as to the phenomenon, it is more difficult to study than that of the lightning associated with a thunderstorm. In 2016, however, the researchers determined, volcanic lightning may be a result of the volcanic ash, and ice cream.

“One of the reasons for this is the electric charge of the particles rubbing together in a dense volcanic ash clouds in the vicinity of the ground. The other is the source of the lightning occurs in the vicinity of the earth, above the surface of the Earth, where the jockeying crystals apart from the more powerful punches,” Live Science, citing two independent studies on the matter, reported that at the moment.
