Students plan abortion protest debate, walkout

ROCKLIN, Calif. – Students at a California high school are organizing a pro-abortion rights protest that was inspired by the recent national student walkout for gun control.

Rocklin High School student Brandon Gillespie tells KOVR-TV he wants to “honor all the lives of aborted babies.”

He says that the idea was prompted by the history teacher Julianne Benzel. She was placed on administrative leave when she asked students to consider whether there was a double standard about the protests on the school grounds between gun control and abortion.

Student newspaper editor Naeirika Neev says “abortion is not really something that has to do with school or study.”

Gillespie, he says, you can read more about the protest with the client on Friday.
