Strootman extends contract at AS Roma until mid-2022
Kevin Strootman has Monday a new contract signed with AS Roma, that him until the summer of 2022 at the Italian club.
The old commitment of the 27-year-old midfielder would be next year end. Strootman came in the past two seasons because of injuries, barely in action, but was this season a fixed value in the team of coach Luciano Spalletti.
“This renewal is very important for me,” says Strootman Monday on the website of the Roma. “Here I would really like to win something and I will do it all for you.”
The South-Hollander came last season, 45 official duels. He came on Sunday in action in the final league game of the season, with Roma qualified for the Champions League. The team took also farewell of clubicoon Francesco Totti.

Strootman made in 2013 the move from PSV to Italy, but became afterwards a severe injury to his knee. The midfielder is the team is grateful for the confidence that he experienced in that period. “Everyone stood behind me and therefore, I am very happy that now continue.”
The former player of Sparta Rotterdam and FC Utrecht is regarded as the third captain of the Dutch national team, behind Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder.
Strootman has a few days off and closes after the friendly Wednesday against Morocco in Orange.
