A st. Paul cop, was stabbed by a homeless woman Monday night, when he had offered to give her a break, for allegedly shoplifting from a store, according to a new report.
Officer Joe Ryan approached the woman at around 8 a.m. after the staff told him that a woman had concealed the items in her clothing without having to pay for it, the Star Tribune reported. He offered to let her return the stolen items without a penalty, according to the paper.
Articia L., Moore is accused of assaulting a police officer.

The woman was later identified as 23-year-old Articia L. Moore refused to have anything stolen, even though Ryan was, reportedly, will see the hidden items. She then returned as a single item. Ryan told her to take the rest back.
The woman explained that she was homeless and was not taking an active part in, The Tribune reported. Ryan grabbed her arm, allegedly by a knife and grabbed her bag.
A struggle ensued and the woman allegedly struck Ryan in the chest with a screwdriver in the arm with a knife, according to a criminal complaint. Ryan brought her under control, and arrested her.

Ryan’s vest protected him from the blade, while his left bicep had a very short cut, according to the charges.

Moore was charged Tuesday in Ramsey County District Court with second-degree sexual assault and sexual interference, and assault on a police officer.
