Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Robyn Lawley shared shocking photos of her facial scars after suffering a nasty fall.
Lawley, 29, posted on the before and after photos of her face on Instagram, and described how she fell from the stairs nearly two months ago. She wrote in the message that she was ready to return to work soon, but wanted to explain what happened.
As I’m getting ready to return to work, feeling strong and in the near of myself, I want to be honest with you, in this day and age where we seemingly share everything, I need some time, physically and emotionally. However, I want the truth known. Almost 2 months ago I had an accident. There is a reason that I was public about my lupus and aps diagnosis from the beginning, a life long incurable (for now) state, I knew not what I, or am I still in for. I unfortunately had a seizure on my stairs, I fell from more than 7ft and landed on my face. I suppose it is ironic that I am a model, but I am grateful that I did not break my neck. I’ve managed to make the circle with that of gratitude and happiness. I could, had it with my daughter, for example, or would I be in a wheelchair, or not breathing. With fashion week coming soon, I wanted to acknowledge my new lighting bolt scar on my forehead (aka official wizard now ?♀️) lip and chin. If the scars fade, a apart of me wants nothing to do with them and a part of me wants to embrace them. They make us who we are. Plus wearing daily make-up on my face is something I cannot do. Life is not all rainbows. I have found the strength the past few months the following people who are courageous to share their physical and emotional ongoing fighting. Thank you @elly.mayday (fighting ovarian cancer) thank you @chelseabonner (camps with fibromyalgia) thank you @_indianrosee & @selenagomez (fellow lupus warriors) thank you. For everyone who’s going through something I regret for the pain you have endured. You are always welcome to DM questions about SLE (lupus) or APS. Thanks to the staff of the hospital and the doctors were quick to treat me. Thank you to my love of my life save me. Sending love and positive vibes. You can always follow @lupusorg or @lupusla to help support lupus research. This picture is from the hospital a few months ago and one from a week ago. ?? Peace Robyn

For years after ill-fitting swimwear, or swimwear that fit, but were not cool, even in the smallest was a problem. ( getting editorials, etc.). My size was considered to be the national average and yet it was the last size offered most in stores? Creating my own swimwear line, showed you can create anything for any body, any size, and it can always be different and cool. I loved the design. This bad boy is from 2015 issue. Again thank you to @si_swimsuit for the body, including diversity in recent years, and with my work both with my film (look through amazon 2018 issue) swimwear and the model itself ?. #robynlawleyswimwear
