Spicer denies report Trump wants to meet with Putin in Iceland

 

President-elect, Donald Trump, incoming press Secretary and Sean Spicer, a report by the Sunday Times denied said on Saturday that Trump was in search of a summit meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Iceland.

The Sunday Times reported that Trump aides told the British officials, the Trump plans to meet with Putin on his first foreign trip, which may in Reykjavik. The paper, citing unidentified sources, reported that Trump is planning to begin working out a deal to limit nuclear weapons, and Moscow agreed on the meeting.

According to the newspaper, Trump is trying to emulate former President Ronald Reagan meeting with the Soviet Union by Mikhail Gorbachev in 1986, took place in the Icelandic capital. The two met, in an effort to work on a large nuclear prohibition Treaty to the height of the Cold war.

Spicer bat in the report on Twitter, calling it “100% false.”
