The video shared on social media by co-passenger Alexis Armstrong, was taken on the Flight 1683 heading from Chicago to Atlanta Wednesday evening.
According to Armstrong, the little girl, who she estimates is about two years old, was afraid and act region in preparation for the flight. When the father asked for a minute to go with his daughter, the coach allegedly walked away and called someone to remove them from the flight.
In her post, Armstrong wrote that the captain soon came on the intercom to announce the plane would be returning to the gate to deal with a “customer service issue.”
In the video, a Southwest official and a flight attendant to be seen speaking with the passengers for a short time, but it is unclear what they say. The man, a small child and an elderly woman next to them, then gather their belongings and escorted from the flight.
Southwest confirmed the family was removed from the flight after the “conversation escalated” between the passengers and the crew.
“We always aim for a friendly and welcoming experience and regret the inconvenience for all parties involved,” a Southwest spokesman said in a statement to Fox News.
“The tour group was booked on the next flight to Atlanta after the original flight continued as planned. We reach out to the customer to listen to any concerns they have about their experience and look forward to welcoming them on board again soon.”
