South Korean army shooting flying projectile in the border with North Korea
South Korean troops have Tuesday afternoon local time, warning shots are discharged on an ‘unknown object’ that from the north over the border and flew. That made the army known.
According to the local news agency Yonhap fired the army ninety machinegeweerschoten on the projectile. That flew from North Korea in the direction of Gangwon province in the east, says the South Korean military. It is not clear whether the object was shot.
South Korea makes investigation into the incident. So is looking at whether it may be a North Korean drone. The defence of the airspace is in the meantime enhanced.
The military demarcation line between North and South Korea is one of the most heavily guarded borders in the world. There are regular skirmishes take place.
