South Bend, Indiana Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) issued a scathing response to mayor Pete Buttigieg, what will be the 2020 presidential candidate should apologize after racist comments charged over a shooting with a black man and a white police officer in his home town.
“Last week, while mayor Buttigieg you continue to lead an election campaign, in which he implies, often wrongly, that South Bend police officers are racist, he refused to apologize,” Harvey Mills, President of the FOP Lodge #36, said in a video posted online.
“Our executives are brave men and women who put their lives on the line for the community every day. We ask that, instead of delivering pizza, the mayor, to ensure the necessary respect for what police officers do and drop the policy.”
The video was released on Friday, included boxes pictures of the pizza, the Buttigieg sent to the police. To apologize, “if this is a lame attempt to me was South Bend police officers, it didn ‘ T go over very well,” said Mills.

In response to the rotation, Buttigieg also supported the call for a special Prosecutor in the investigation and said he would apply to work at the Ministry of justice the Civil Rights Division to request an independent investigation.
The FOP responds by mocking Buttigieg’s comments as political opportunism and the split in the community. “Mayor Buttigieg’s comments have already and will continue to be said to have a negative effect on the local law enforcement agencies and police officers nationwide,” the organization.

According to WSBT, Buttigieg campaign said it had tried to contact with the FOP since the date of the shooting. “The mayor and the members of our firm have the FOP on several occasions since the 16th century. June and still have not received a reply,” said the campaign, according to reports.
In a press release, noted that the FOP-show also called on Buttigieg respect, by donating money to a fundraising page set up to “help, defend, Sgt O’neill against the lawsuit and vile attacks on his reputation.”
