Andrew “A. J.” Baker, the adult son of Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker, is accused of battering a female neighbor on board a flight from JetBlue on the evening of 20 June, although Baker maintains he was sleeping on the flight.
Gov. Baker confirmed earlier this week that the U. S. Attorney’s office is investigating the allegations.
According to the Boston Globe, the incident happened about 45 minutes into the flight from Washington, D. C., in Boston, the unnamed 29-year-old woman told the police that she was “touched inappropriately” by 24-year-old Baker. She said: “he had fondled her right breast.”
Baker, who has not yet been charged, claims he “sleep the entire flight.”
The reported incident is said to have taken place on an evening flight from Washington, D. C. to Boston on June 20.

An anonymous witness told the authorities that she saw Baker “lean” in the woman’s direction “a few times.” Another passenger claims to have heard the woman say to Baker, “don’t do that… don’t do that,” before she called a flight attendant to move her chair, “visibly upset.”
According to the report, a flight attendant said she spoke with Baker, who said: “it’s OK, because [the wife] was his sister’s best friend.” Witnesses later told police that Baker appeared in the war as a flight attendant informed him that he must speak to the authorities after landing.
“Have I done something wrong?”, he said, according to the report.
Meanwhile, the Globe reports that there is no information in the report shows that the Baker and the reported victim knew each other before the flight.
At the landing, Baker told the authorities that he was not taking any medication. He said that he had two glasses of wine for his flight and had not even finished the second glass, according to the report.
The JetBlue crew confirmed that he had no alcohol in the air.

Escorted from the plane by police at Logan International Airport, Baker reportedly told a trooper, “he didn’t know what was going on.”
“I advised him, that we have a report of an incident of inappropriate touching during the flight, which Baker said:” No, I sleep the whole flight… My feet under the seat in front of me,” a trooper report states.
The flight of the captain later informed authorities that he considered diverting the flight to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York upon learning of the reported abuse midflight, but decided against it, as it would be the same amount of time to land in Boston.
On June 25, A. s. Baker held a short press conference, said that his son will cooperate with the authorities about the ongoing case.
