The State Dept. proposes that foreign visitors and people who plan to immigrate to the USA to get to various social media accounts, a Visa to the left.
The State Department is expected to publish a series of proposals Friday that would be required, some tourists and migrants to information about their social media accounts before you have been reported in the United States, The Washington Times.
The proposals are part of a broader effort, said of the trump management for the implementation of the “extreme security review” on immigration, the Department.
Travelers would also be required to phone numbers, E-Mail addresses, international travel and immigration within the last five years.
Travelers would also be required to answer questions about possible familial connections to terrorism.
“The upgrade to the visa-examination is long overdue, and it is suitable in order to everyone seeking entry, because terrorism is a global problem. The goal is to weed out people with radical or dangerous views,” Jessica Vaughan, policy studies Director at the Center for Immigration Studies, said the paper.
According to the documents, about 14 million people would be affected by the new proposals, and a further 700 000 would be affected in the immigration system.
Don Crocetti, a former senior fraud investigator at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, said that to bring an individual cancellation, your social media accounts could not be used alone to refuse permission.
“The use of social media is a wrench in your tool. It is not so that you have the same key for everything you do, but it’s a wrench, it is a different size tool, and you need to use that selectively,” he said.
After the publication of the proposals for 60 days to allow for public comment before the measures will be completed later this year.
