SAN ANTONIO – Authorities say a Texas trooper shot and injured during the chase of a suspect.
The San Antonio Express-News reports the police have pulled a man over on a Sunday afternoon in Guadalupe County. The Ministry of Public Security, says the man gave false information and a scuffle began when the trooper tried to arrest him.
The suspect got back into his car and fled to the west in San Antonio.
DPS spokesman Trooper Deon Cockrell said a department helicopter saw the defendant, and the trooper was able to get him back down and pursue him. At one point, the suspect drove on a highway and began traveling in the wrong direction.
The suspect eventually stopped his car and got out. Cockrell says the man and the trooper exchanged gunfire and both were hit.
