Sir Patrick Stewart is returning as his beloved character Jean-Luc Picard in the upcoming TV series “Star Trek: Picard.”

In the first teaser trailer, which fell on Thursday, a female narrator speaks as Picard is seen walking through a picturesque vineyard somewhere on Earth. She asks why he left Starfleet and lost his faith in himself and others.

“What that would cost? Your faith? Your trust in us? Your faith in yourself? Tell us,” she pleads. She also calls him Admiral Picard, and then Stewart’s face appears on the screen.

Stewart played Picard for seven seasons on “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and the new CBS All Access series will “follow this iconic character in the next chapter of his life,” according to the network.

The series takes place 18 years after the events of Star Trek: Nemesis.”

“Star Trek: Picard” will also star Alison Pill, Michelle Hurd, Evan Evagora, Isa Briones, Santiago Cabrera and Harry Treadaway.

The series is yet to announce a premiere.
