Singer Toontje Lager frustrated by ex-colleagues
Erik Mesie find it a pity that the other original members of Toontje Lager were not looking for a comeback. The frontman of the English pop group from the eighties has them, however, approached, but did not get enthusiastic responses.
“They are occupied with other things. That was a shock,” said Mesie Friday in the AD. “They find that we Toontje Lager should leave.”
The now 59-year-old Mesie has always continued to occur but would prefer to have the old band play. “My voice is recognizable Toontje Lager. I found that I the band to a new life might generate, even without the original line-up.”
With a renewed composition, Toontje Lager after thirty years on tour again. There will also be new material. Or the comeback for a long time, know Mesie not. “The club tour is a beginning, and it holds for anyone is a risk. The success of it determines what we then do. Those numbers are so good, I am curious to see if the magic still works and if we something can drop.”
