Shirley Boone, who was married to a celebrated singer and actor Pat Boone, reportedly died Friday at the age of 84.

In her own career, Shirley was a writer and humanitarian, among other things.

Her husband also credited “her desire to help people as an activist,” to tell People that “she had an honest, deep, sincere love for the people.”

“She was so easy to love, because she loved so easily and so naturally,” he said.
