Siem de Jong after penalty shoot-out Australian champion with Sydney FC

Siem de Jong is the Sunday champion of Australia with Sydney FC. The team of the Ajax-mercenary defeated Perth Glory after penalty kicks in the Grand Final of the A League.

After the regular time and extra time was 0-0 on the scoreboard of the Optus Stadium in Perth. Then missed Perth Glory two of his three penalties, while Sydney FC four times, tap lap, and so the championship should celebrate.

It is the fourth title for the club from Sydney, after 2006, 2010 and 2017. This is Sydney FC are now shared recordkampioen of Australia.

The team of trainer Steve Corica ended in the regular season as the second, on eight points from Perth Glory.

Fifth championship for The Young

The Young was this season by Ajax rented out to the Australian club. He was Sunday in the final of the play-offs the first 78 minutes in the field.

The midfielder, who is in Amsterdam still has a contract until mid-2020, came this year to seventeen matches, four goals and two assists in the A-League. He was previously in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 champion with Ajax.

Former sc Heerenveen-striker Reza Ghoochannejhad, who by ALAKE Nicosia rented out to Sydney FC, fell in the Grand Final in the 95th minute and made the decisive penalty. Defender Jop van der Linden was not in the selection.
