Shooting in the vicinity of the Ohio State-1 person wounded in ‘targeted’ attack, the school said

One person was shot dead near Ohio State University early Sunday, in what school officials said was a targeted attack.

At about 1:30 p.m., in the university told the students that an “active shooter” was reported at the school’s campus in Columbus. “Safe to Run, Hide or, as a last resort, Fight!” the officials said, noting that the police department will respond to the situation.

Columbus Police said that someone had been shot in a McDonald’s restaurant is located on the High Street in the vicinity of the campus, and the suspect, a man wearing a cowboy hat and a black sweatshirt with the hood — had fled the scene.

The person who was shot walked into Grant Medical Center on their own, the researchers told WBNS.

Authorities say that the person who was shot was “directed”, and that the shooting was ‘no random act’ and notified to the pupils, there was “no ongoing threat.”

The suspect was not taken into custody at 7:30 p.m. ET on Sunday.
