A reddingsschip with on board over three hundred migrants, including 179 minors, has arrived in Spain. The vessel Open Arms arrived Friday around 9: 00 in the Andalusian town of San Roque, reports the Spanish news agency Europa Press.
The migrants were received by thirty volunteers from the Red Cross.
The refugees last week saved. They dobberden in the Mediterranean Sea in three boats near the Libyan coast. Among the rescued migrants was a baby of a few days. The baby was with his mother by helicopter to Malta flown. The Spanish aid agency Proactiva Open Arms was about the refugees.
Malta and Italy were the other migrants not catch. The government in Madrid gave Proactiva Open Arms the permission to the migrants to Spain. They are cared for in centers in the towns of Algeciras and La Línea.
The Libyan coast guard said last week that this year about fifteen thousand migrants in the Mediterranean Sea trying to cross has picked up. The United Nations estimate that the actual number is a lot higher and think that many of them are being held under inhumane conditions and are victims of abuse.
The UN mission in Libya, UNSMIL, said on 20 december in a report of 61 pages to the coast guard in the first nine months of this year, about 29,000 migrants have been stopped or saved.
