Shakira fans were shaking their heads after spotting what appeared to be a Nazi-like symbol on a chain for sale on the singer of the fan on the website. The $9.99 gold pendant necklace was meant to promote the star “El Dorado World Tour”, which started in the beginning of June.

The German news site Bento was one of the first media to point to the offensive souvenir, saying that it was written with the “Black Sun”, a symbol designed by the Nazis.

“The symbol conceals three crossed swastikas – twelve or seven arranged in a circle,” the news outlet reported.

Angry fans soon started to place side-by-side photos of the “Black Sun” symbol and it shows up on Shakira’s merchandise.

“A fascist symbol as a necklace for your trip around the world? Are you f-ing serious?” another asked.

Live Nation, Shakira concert producer, took responsibility for the gaffe in an apology note posted online Thursday.

“The chain Live Nation designed for Shakira’s El Dorado World Tour was based on the Pre-Columbian images,” the group tweeted. “However, some fans are concerned that the design bears an unintentional resemblance to Neo-Nazi images. Our sincere apologies for this unintended similarity and permanently pulled the item from the tour collection”.

Shakira’s fans were furious at the singer is to blame for the accident, and the company to “do some research” the next time for adding new items to the celebrity’s website.

“Unfortunately, everyone blames the artist when they design the merch. can you a little bit more about the artist’s reputation?” a fan asked.

“They need to fix this. Cause the s–t… and there is no pre-colombian/indigenous (aztecs, incas, maya) art with that sun design…” another woman pointed out.

Shakira’s “El Dorado World Tour” will wrap up in November, after the singer occurs in more than 50 shows on different continents.
