Shakira acquitted of the charge of plagiarism by Spanish court

Shakira is acquitted after an accusation of plagiarism. The singer was in a court in Madrid to appear, because a fellow musician had accused her of copying his song. Know this, RTVE to report.

The Colombian singer declared at the end of march already for the court that there was no plagiarism in the composition of her song La Bicicleta, a duet with fellow countryman Carlos Vives.

The Cuban musician Livám complained the two, because he thinks that a number of agreements and pieces of the lyrics can also be found in his song Yo Te Quiero Tanto, 1997, that he had ever to Vives sent for a collaboration. Shakira said in the past, in the district court that the styles of the two songs are totally different.

Livám can appeal against the decision of the court. Shakira herself is on 12 June in the court expected. They must then justify in a case for tax fraud. The singer is suspected of 14.5 million euros in tax to have evaded.
