Seven thousand additional workers for nursing homes
In nursing homes from next year, around 7,000 extra staff to be employed. It is partly for new staff, and contracts with employees and can be expanded to get more hands on the bed to get.
State secretary of Health Martin van Rijn has decided that from 2018 annually 335 million euro will be available, in addition to the 100 million per year which was recently announced.
It is expected that in the long term in nursing homes to about 40,000 additional employees are needed.
“Nursing homes can immediately get to work to hire people,” said the minister. He wants more time and attention for the residents and their loved ones, and more permanent employees who they know.
The 100 million who earlier this year released was primarily intended to be the biggest problems in the nursing homes where it is needed most.
