Seven children died in a fire in a boarding school Kenya

A fire in a sleeping quarters of a meisjeskostschool in the Kenyan capital city of Nairobi has in the night from Friday to Saturday to seven students lives. Ten other girls were injured.

This was said by Education minister, Fred Matiangi Saturday.

The school is pending an investigation into the cause of the fire is closed. The Moi Girls School, where nearly 1,200 students are enrolled, is known as one of the better schools in the country.

In the last few years there’s often been a fire in boarding schools in Kenya. In 2001, 58 students to a fire in a jongensinternaat in Kyanguli. Five years ago, died of eight children by a fire in a school in Homa Bay, in the west of the country.
