Selena Gomez is opening up about body-shaming effect on the hair in the middle of her lupus diagnosis.

Gomez said in a new interview that she’s struggled to deal with the people who say that they had gained weight while receiving treatment for the disease.

“I know [body-shaming] with all my weight fluctuations, and for the first time,” Gomez said in the “Giving Back-Generation” podcast. “I have lupus, and how to deal with kidney problems and high blood pressure, so I have to deal with a lot of health problems, and for me, that’s when I really started noticing that more and more of the body-image stuff.”

Gomez pointed out that there are many factors that can contribute to her fluctuating weight.

“It’s the medication I have to take it for the rest of my life, it all depends on the month, to be honest with you. So, for me, is that I’ve noticed is that when people started to attack me,” she said. “In fact, that’s just the truth. I’m rocking it. It all depends on what is happening in my life.”

Gomez received plenty of online criticism of her during her well-publicized health battle, she comments, “to me, big-time,” and “really messed me up a little bit.”

Gomez’s health in the battle to have caused the singer to shy away from social media.

“I’m very happy with my life and be present. That is what it is. Similar to me posting a photo in and out of the way, to walk before me, and that’s it. I will be a red carpet, and I will do anything; I don’t need to see it; I’ve participated and I had a good feeling and that’s what it is,” Gomez explained.

“I don’t care to expose myself to anyone and everyone to see and hear what they have to say about it,” she continued.
