Sef makes new song with pictures from Nepal
Rapper Sef (Yousef Gnaoui) is back from Nepal where he projects for clean drinking water and plastic have visited. The rapper has audio recordings made during his journey that resulted in the new number to Celebrate.
“It’s about the fact that we are occasionally a bit need to reflect and realize what we all have. This I write often for myself as a kind of reminder,” says Sef in an interview in Metro.
In the interview explains to the musician how he the pictures processed in the new number.
“I’ve done my best to not be too tidy. With a sound recorder I have samples included. Sounds of nature, but also local gigs with different instruments. For example, drums. When I was back in the Netherlands, I am going to cut and paste, and I have a production made. 98 percent of what you hear is ‘found footage’, but I’m only a small thing when played. I wanted for a very long time in that way.”
