Sculpture by French sculptor Rodin brings 3.7 million
A white marble sculpture by the French sculptor Auguste Rodin at an auction in Paris for € 3.7 million raised. The work represents the mythological princess Andromeda. Rodin (1840-1917) made the sculpture in 1887.
The buyer is a private European collector who is unknown wishes to continue. He paid significantly more than previously by the auction house Artcurial was estimated.
There are four copies of Andromeda. The other three are in museums in Paris, Buenos Aires and Philadelphia.
In hong Kong, sold Christie’s auction house a handbag for the amount of converted 339.000 euro. In the Birkin bag in white crocodile skin made by Hermès, gold and diamonds. Also in this case wanted to have the copper remain unknown.
