René Hake is working on his final months as coach of SC Cambuur. From the club’s Kitchen Champion Division has decided the expiring contract of the born Drent not to renew.
“This is a joint decision,” said Hake, according to the Leeuwarder Courant. “You discuss vision and possibilities for the future and if it turns out that you both are not on the same page can or want to, you come together to this decision.”
The 47-year-old Hake is now in its second year at Cambuur, that him in January 2018 appointed. In his first season, he forced the Frisians have a place in the play-offs for promotion to the Premier league, but Cambuur was wrecked in the first round.
For his time at Cambuur was Hake inter alia, head coach at FC Emmen (2010-2012) and FC Twente (2015-2017). For the Tukkers, he was in October 2017 dismissed after a series of disappointing results.
As assistant coach posted Hake more success. He was for many years the right hand of Ron Jans at PEC Zwolle, that in 2014 the cup and the Johan Cruijff Scale won.
