Trainer Erik ten Hag is in his element with the position of FC Utrecht in the third qualifying round of the Europa League. The Domstedelingen played Thursday evening the heenwedstrijd against Lech Poznan goalless equal.

“We have a good performance and a good result is achieved. 0-0 is a good result. One time score in Poland may be enough”, says a satisfied At the Hag in the Galgenwaard Stadium against FOX Sports.

FC Utrecht and Lech Poznan were very well matched, in the poor heenwedstrijd, but the home team if, after the end not complain about the doelpuntloze tie. The visitors from Poland were mainly in the second half, good chances, but goalkeeper David Jensen held in Utrecht on the leg.

At Hag was not so impressed by the opportunities of Lech Poznan. “What kind of chances created was a coincidence. We were very good in the back and have relatively little given away. Also in the building we were pretty good, only hesitant we have the game in time to move in the transition. Now it was tempoloos and we spent them not in trouble.”

At Hag could be in the heenwedstrijd do not have Simon Makienok, who on Wednesday at the training the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee afscheurde and for the time being out of the rotation. Also Yassin Ayoub was not in the selection, because he is on his way to another club.

At Hag frustrated by the fact that his selection is in the last months quite subject to change. “I had hoped my team somewhat intact, but now, several players are behind each other”, refers to the coach on the departure of Sebastien Haller, Richairo Zivkovic, Sofyan Amrabat and Nacer Barazite.

“It helps you automatisms miss that you need. Especially in the attack listens to that very closely. We were on the right path, but now there are again two pawns away (Makienok and Ayoub, eds.). So it is becoming increasingly difficult. Every training session should be next week touch, then we have a good chance in the return. This result is, in any case, that’s fine.”

The return of FC Utrecht against Lech Poznan in Poland next week to 20.15 hours finished.
