The two had worked previously together in the film, Lady Bird, in which the 25-year-old Ronan in the leading role. During a promotion tour for the film through at least 2017 when the Irish actress of that Gerwig is also from Little Women would be found.
“I’m so, Hidden on the shoulder, and told him that I had heard about Little Women and me, Jo wanted to play with,” says Ronan of Variety. Gerwig had this idea to just let it sink in, according to the actress, but after a week she got an e-mail from us containing the approval.
According to Gerwig, however, there was never a moment of doubt. “Saoirse told me, that she, Jo, was going to play.”
“I knew without a doubt that I’m Lady Bird would have to ruin it’
Well I felt during the video shoot for Little Women with a lot more self-assured as an actor than in the past. “To Lady Bird, I did it every day and put it in my pants and I was afraid that I would screw it up. It was a great experience, but I called up each and every day with my mum and friends to tell them that I was messing up. In Little Women, that was not at all like that.”
Little Women is about four sisters-Jo, Meg, Amy and Beth March, played by Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh and Eliza, Scanlen, who are growing up under the care of their mother (Laura Dern), during the American civil War. The film will be available later this month at the movies.
