Samsung presents Gear S3 smartwatch with built-in GPS
Samsung on Wednesday on techbeurs IFA its new smartwatch unveiled: the Gear S3, with an own GPS-receiver.
The smart watch can keep track of where the wearer is located, without a connection with a smartphone. That can ensure that, for example, jogging routes can be tracked.
The Gear S3 is displayed in a minimalist ‘classic’version and a more robust ‘frontier’version. Both versions are 46 to 49 millimeters wide and 13 millimeters thick.

The device for thirty minutes to one and a half meters deep waterproof, and features like the previous smart watch from Samsung about a circular edge with which the device can be controlled.
The smart watch runs again on Samsung’s own Tizen operating system. The round 1,3 inch-amoledscherm with a pixel density of 278 pixels per inch is always on. The watch has 4GB storage memory and 768 MB ram.
Just like its predecessor, you can watch only be connected to Android devices, although this is not of Samsung to come. The Gear S3 is at the end of 2016 will be available in both versions at a suggested retail price of 399 euros.
Outside the Netherlands also appears to be a version which has its own 4G connection, and thus still more independent of a smartphone. Here is that version for the time being though is not on the market.
