Sailor Heiner drops to fourth place at world CHAMPIONSHIPS in Finnklasse
Sailor Nicholas Heiner has at the world CHAMPIONSHIPS in the olympic Finnklasse bad things done in the battle for the medals.
In the only race that Thursday could be sailed on the lake Balaton came Heiner as thirteenth on the finish. He failed, therefore, in the standings from third to fourth place.
“We had to wait very long time,” said Heiner. “First, there was no wind, but some rain showers to the side and brought wind. That was when, all of a sudden very quickly. It really is a weird bunch here with a lot of silliness.”
The world champion of 2014 in the laser class got during the race all of a sudden speed rail and dropped to the rear.
With 48 points is Heiner on the fourth place, ten points behind the numbers two and three. The Swedish leader Max Salminen has 31 points. There are still three regular races and Sunday is the closing medalrace with the top ten.
