Sad thing is, a dog will have to wait for dead owner to come home

This is probably one of the most heartbreaking photos ever taken.

Animal rescue in Northern New Jersey, and posted a picture of a dog sitting by its owner and an empty bed. What is a 3-year-old Lab mix, was apparently not aware of the fact that his owner had recently passed away, and was waiting for him to come back.

The tear-jerking photos uploaded to Facebook by NorthStar, Pet Rescue, in Boonton, N. J., and The non-profit organization that works with Eleventh Hour Rescue in Randolph, N. J,, to find the Moose a new home. Since it was published, the picture has been shared thousands of times.

A Facebook, NorthStar posted, “What was sitting patiently beside his father’s hospital bed, waiting for him to return, not knowing that Dad had passed away. What it is, now go back to our friends at Eleventh Hour Rescue and the loss of his father, is quite difficult. Please help the Moose to find a new home and a family for him.

“He is a pretty happy guy by nature,” the post continued. “He just needs help to get his heart to heal.”

A few days later, the post was updated saying: “Thanks to the power of social media, the Moose has a variety of uses, and we hope that he will find a forever home soon! Thank you for caring & sharing everyone!!!”

NorthStar, told Fox News, “What is a dog in the care of Eleventh Hour Rescue in Randolph, NJ, USA. Animal rescues often work together to help find homes for dogs in need, and NorthStar Pet Rescue and has had a long and special relationship with the Eleventh Hour to Save it. We shared his story and photos in the hopes of finding a local foster or adopter for him. By using the power of social media, his story, and now all over the world.
