Ryanne van Dorst turns up the night for its new program Nocturnal animals. This draws them with a car through the Netherlands in search of people who still are awake, such as nachtsporters, artists and straatjutters.
“When the daily grind to stay quiet and people are sleeping, I get a huge sense of freedom,” says Dorst. “The idea that everything is possible. I want to know what people with this freedom. Or there are people who understand a prisoner of the night?”
In the first episode attracts the presenter by Rotterdam, where she encounters with a fisherman and a man who is looking for sex in the park. In the second episode she visits a daklozenproject in Amsterdam and a church that is open at night.
Previously presented Of Thirst is the program’s Gender! and Holland!. The first episode of Nocturnal is on January 8, to show on NPO3.
