Ruud de Wild to think that at Radio 538 a angstcultuur prevails and that everyone is afraid of owner John de Mol.
“They use his name in any case, bandied about, though I believe that John for 80 percent do not agree gets what, from his name being said.”
That tells the former Radio 538-dj in an interview with JFK.
The Wild had in 2015 to give way for the Coen & Sander, who was at that time befell of 3FM. That was according to dj purely a “strategic decision” by John de Mol, the owner of 538. The transmitter was thus in one fell swoop the large competitor lost and The Wild. “Go out first, actually”, so he looks back. “Months later, I asked the program director why it was so gone. His answer: “John wanted it so’.”
“It was the biggest sewing action that I could. Now I can laugh, but then I found it terrible and I could hardly believe it. I always thought that to me that would never happen,” says the producer.
Despite frantic efforts got The Wild never text and explanation of The Mole itself. “It was impossible. I had the like to be honestly told,” he says.
For The Wild, now in charge at NPO Radio 2, the matter is now a closed book. “John de Mol is not with me involved. He is business-like and has no idea what I even think. There are lots of people in between. It is for him a game. Business. I know for that matter, no revenge. Their loss. It was just something fairer, and so we could,” said the dj.
