Ruth Wilson appeared on ‘CBS This Morning’ on Thursday, where she told co-host Gayle King that she is ‘not allowed to talk about why she chose to leave ‘The Affair.’
After four seasons on “The affair” star Ruth Wilson is leaving the drama show, but according to the actress, she can not elaborate on the reason behind her exit.
On Thursday, the star appeared on “CBS This Morning”, where she told co-host Gayle King: “I want to go, but I’m not allowed to talk about the reason why.”
When asked if her decision had to do with money, since the 36-year-old previously shared that her co-star Dominic West “is certainly more” than her on the series, Wilson said: “I have never filed a complaint with Showtime on pay parity.”
During the August-episode 5, Wilson’s character, Alison Bailey, deceased. However, her cause of death is not simply obvious.
“I think it’s murder,” the actress admitted.
After the shocking reveal, showrunner Sarah Hopper told The Hollywood Reporter that Bailey’s death was always a possibility,” but it was not until Wilson wanted the show that she decided her character would die.
“That was a request, so that it was decided in principle before we started writing,” Hopper explained. “It was not a discovery of any kind. That was a very conscious one. And actually, we shot all of her work for the first time. Her whole storyline was shot before we get a shot of something else.”
