Ruth Jacott has ‘seven lean years’ behind the back
Ruth Jacott has the past few years, with various setbacks. The singer feels after this difficult period stronger than ever.
“I say sometimes: it was my seven lean years,” says Jacott (56) in the Margriet. “Six years ago, my relationship, after 22 years. I couldn’t believe it. The period afterwards felt like a grieving process.”
Jacott came out that she is stronger than she thought. “I put myself in that time to truly overcome. I want to further say anything about that. That has been, and I am now in a very different phase.”
Also about her love life, wants to be the singer not much to lose. “I am a happy bachelor and far from lonely. I have so many dear friends and family around me. I can enjoy a house full of people for whom I can cook. I think that’s the best thing there is.”
In addition to the liefdesbreuk, got Jacott in recent years to deal with physical setbacks. During the dress rehearsal of her last show, she fell off the stage and broke her foot. A year and a half ago she was operated on her knee and before she went for both shoulders under the knife.
In spite of everything, knew Jacott, remain positive, which, according to her, contributes to look younger. “It’s so much fun for yourself as possible. Do not grumble, do not pathetic to do. That draws you in you’re face.”
