Russian military choir gives first performance since aviation disaster to”

The world-famous Russian Alexandrov Ensemble Thursday again occurred. It is the first concert that the ‘Red Army Choir’, since the aviation disaster to ” on Christmas day, where most of the members of the choir were killed.

Existing and new members of the official choir of the Russian armed forces gathered Thursday evening in traditional military clothing in the Russian Army Theatre in Moscow. They sang a number of the most famous Russian folk songs for an audience that mainly consisted of soldiers in uniform, reported AFP.

The choir, which in 1928 was founded, lost in the crash, 64 of its members, among whom were some of his best singers. The military Russian airplane in which they were sitting, collapsed in the morning, shortly after take-off in Sochi in the Black Sea. All 92 occupants were killed.

“The Alexandrov Ensemble has people are supported and inspired in difficult and critical times, and today they have our support”, said the present Russian deputy Defence minister Nikolai Pankov prior to the concert.
