Russian developer defends controversial ‘Active Shooter video game

Acid Software, the developer of the school shooting video game is to defend the product and vowing to continue to sell them online, if the parents of the children killed and other mass shooting victims work for the game swept the internet.

The developer for a video game that stimulates a shooting at a school has found new ways to sell his game after an online gaming platform removed, after great opposition from the parents of the children killed in the school shootings.

“Active Shooter” has been removed from the platform Steam, after the anti-gun activists and the parents of the students killed during school shootings criticism on the game, allowing players to simulate school shootings by playing the role of the shooter.

Ryan Petty, the father of Alaina Petty, who was killed in the massacre at marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida, beat the game, calling it “despicable,” and said it was “unacceptable” that the Steam allowed games like these to be shared.

Anton Makarevskiy, the developer of the game, defended by his entity, Acid Software, citing free speech rights.

The 21-year-old developer based in Moscow has championed “Active Shooter” in the past, say that it is a “SWAT stimulator,” and that the players have the choice to be SWAT or the shooter.

“Active Shooter” gives players the “game statistics” where they can see how many citizens and police killing them.
