‘Rouhani over on top in presidential elections, Iran’
The current president, Hassan Rouhani, is expected to be the winner of the Iranian presidential elections that Friday were held.
After the count of 37 of the 41 million votes cast, the moderate Rouhani at 21.5 million votes.
“It’s over, Rouhani is the winner,” said an Iranian source at Reuters news agency. The conservative candidate Ebrahim Raisi is in the preliminary standings, not further than 14 million votes. The other candidates played no role of significance.
