Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra will roll in Rotterdam, I Love You
The Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra will be given a ‘musical key role in the international film Rotterdam, I love you. That made orchestral manager George Wiegel and film producers Matt Jaems and Joeri Pruys Wednesday known.
The Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra provides the symphonic parts of the soundtrack, and is also working as the Musical Director responsible for the overall concept as a film. In addition, the orchestra plays “a visible role”.
“Our orchestra has previously show to be as strong in film music; this is a beautiful next step”, orchestral manager George Wiegel. “As soon as the ideas for the film became clear, we have to get in contact with the producers. So by and by Rotterdam-based film, as we had to when by and by the Rotterdam orchestra, of course. We are very proud that we are the sound of Rotterdam can be heard.”
Rotterdam, I Love You is the next part in the Cities of Love film series, in which a variety of filmmakers, a tribute is brought to the respective metropolis. The ode to Rotterdam receives eleven directors, including Paula van der Oest, Koen Mortier, and Atom Egoyan. Barry Atsma makes his directorial debut with a segment of Rotterdam, I Love You. The movie is coming summer included, and will appear next year in the cinemas.
