Roseanne Barr is on the 75th Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills, California. on Jan. 7, 2018.
Roseanne Barr had strong words for talk show host Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday night, as they guest star “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” in addition to her on-screen husband, John Goodman, dish about the “Roseanne” revival.
Barr’s character, Roseanne Conner, is a supporter of President Trump in the show’s reboot — just as Barr is in real life. Barr turned in January that the Conners voted for Trump, and that is a storyline in the revival.
On Thursday, Kimmel addressed this aspect of the show and questioned the 65-year-old about her own support for Trump.
“I am shocked, because I know that you are a very socially liberal person in general,” he said.
“I’m still the same that you all moved. You all went so f-ing far away from you lost everyone,” she replied, adding, “a lot of us, regardless of who we voted for, we don’t want to see that our president is not.”
She continued, “Because we don’t want [Mike] Pence! Are you f-ing kidding me? You want Pence? You want Pence for the freaking president? Well then, zip that f-ing lip.”
Barr, Goodman and Kimmel then burst out laughing.
“This is what the show, by the way,” Kimmel said.
Barr continued to express her views to add in the direction of the end that “in the ‘Roseanne’ show, I’ve always tried to have it be a true reflection of the society in which we live. I feel like half of the people who voted for the Trumpet, and the other half not, so it’s just realistic.”
“Roseanne” returns to ABC on March 27.
