RIVM provides short smogpiek during the new year
The national Institute for public Health and the Environment (RIVM) provides little smog in the air during the turn of the year on the basis of the current weather forecasts. However, warns the institute for a “momentary peak” smog where people with lung conditions can suffer from.
The concentrations of fine dust, however, will quickly drop because there is expected to be much wind, says a spokeswoman for the institute Tuesday.
By all the fireworks at the end of the week is chipped, the concentrations of particulate matter up. “That can lead to reduced lung function. Therefore, people can suffer from wheezing, coughing or shortness of breath,” said the zegsvrouw of the RIVM.
The health institution did advises people with respiratory problems, during the turn of the year to stay inside and exercise to avoid. In some cases, may in consultation with the physician medications to be adjusted.
