Ribprotheses UMC Groningen break by metal fatigue
The ribprotheses of the University Medical Centre in Groningen (UMCG) in twelve patients broken by metal fatigue. This ran multiple persons internal injuries.
One of them now has five hersteloperaties undergone, reports the Telegraaf on Sunday. Some patients have damage to the nerves, tissues, and botdelen incurred.
The ribprotheses are made of precious metal, titanium, to ensure that deformities of the breast bone be corrected. The prosthetics transformed, however, by metal fatigue.
