The legislation will be introduced in the Senate by Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn. It is sponsored as a co-from Sens. Tom cotton, R-Ark.; Kevin Cramer, R-N. D., Shelley Moore Capito, R-W. Va.; Kelly Loeffler, R-Ga.; Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, and Mike Rounds, R-S. D., in the Meantime, in the house, Rep. Ken Buck, R-Colo., the introduction of companion legislation. Bill is co-sponsored by 21 other members.
“Tennesseans know all too well what can happen if illegal immigrants are granted driver’s licenses,” Blackburn said in a statement. “While Tennessee and many other States drivers to ban licenses for illegal aliens, a growing number of States are moving in the opposite direction, and unleashing dangerous open borders policy. Immigrants need to process to the correct Federal and state citizenship or legal status before issuing a state driver’s license.”
“In America, nobody is above the law,” she added.
