MIAMI – a Florida man is facing felony drug possession charges says he is working on a Miami-area facility for the housing of immigrant children separated from their families.
Franky Santos was charged after 2017 traffic stop in what the authorities say about 20 grams of marijuana.
The Miami Herald report s Santos told a judge this week he works on the Farm, and Temporary Shelter for unaccompanied Children, monitoring of children in the age from 12 to 17. He said that he was not supposed to discuss in public, adding the facility the contractor knew of his claim.
Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Jeri Cohen says Santos’ hiring of a “disgrace” and urged him to stop. She says that anyone with a pending criminal matters should not be this kind of work to do.
The contractor, referred questions to the Department of Health and Human Services, which is not immediately be reached.
