Report details suicide note and the funeral card left by killed Michigan teacher man

Fox 17 obtained copies of the suicide note in map found, after Christopher Lockhart’s apparent suicide. Lockhart is a person of interest in the disappearance of his wife Theresa.

Newly released documents that were found after the apparent suicide of a Michigan man who is a person of interest in the disappearance of his wife, Thea, showed him confessing to killing her and says: “I’m so sorry,” Fox 17 reported.

The outlet, which the records of the Portage police, shared Pdfs of the farewell letter, which authorities said was left behind by Christopher Lockhart on Oct. 24, along with a map that he allegedly drew for the police, pointing them to the location of his wife’s body. The department released 199 documents in total.

In the note, divided by Fox 17, Lockhart admitted to the choking of his wife “to the death” on 18 May, after a discussion and said: “I am so sorry for this horrific act.”

“I was drunk and we were arguing and I hit it,” he wrote. “I’m living with it at any time of the day and I miss her so much. I have not her first, that was my biggest mistake.”

In the letter, he went for an excuse to “he who believes in me” for what he called a “senseless act.” He also allegedly admitted to the killing of the pair of the cats, of whom he said that they argued about.

The map below, provided by Fox 17, included in a note to “Detective Hess,” along with a drawn picture of the Allegan County area, the highlight of Theresa’s burial place with an “X”

“I’m so sorry for taking her away from everyone,” Lockhart wrote. “You find her and put her to rest. I had no right to do what I did. I pray that God forgives me. I love her so much.”

Using the card, police located the remains of the missing teacher on Oct. 24, the same day that her husband allegedly committed suicide, and more than five months after she was initially reported missing. She had not seen since May 18.

The authorities found Lockhart’s body during a search of his home after he did not appear for a meeting with the researchers of that morning. An electronic confirmation which he wore, had not shown any movement for a few hours.
