If Rep. Ilhan Omar ignited steep controversy in March, describes the September 11 attacks as “a few people have done something,” it was then that a longtime police officer in your neighborhood, decided he needed to do more than just complain about what he perceived as a shocking trivialization of the terrorist attack that tore through the fabric of his beloved country.

Now, Chris Kelley, who’s eleven military medals collected, as a 27-year veteran of the U.S. army and the army reserves and clocked more than 36,000 hours, the Minnesota patrol the streets as a 20-year veteran of the Minneapolis police Department, has his sights on knocking Omar out of her seat to represent Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District in the year 2020.

“11. September is a terrible loss of life, not only for police officers and firefighters and other first responders, but 3,000 people and non-combatants died, and are blind to the scandal. I could sit and complain, or I could do something about it,” Kelley, who is running as an independent, told Fox News. “And I think I can be a positive voice, and for the people in our country, and for our first responders and the people, the every day on the Front line.”

In his view, the current representative, Omar has devoted to much time to Tinker, and their “celebrity” than on that of service to the community, he insists, it is honorable to serve, if elected.

“As a former military, I’m here to serve and not to further my status. I want to do a good job for the people I represent, and I do not have a personal agenda,” said Kelley, who once provided, during the Operation Desert Storm and twice during Operation Iraqi Freedom as an intelligence analyst and also holds a master’s degree in Criminal Justice Leadership from Concordia University in St. Paul. “I am passionate about the service, and I just want to be able to make more.”

He is not completely a political newbie. Kelley worked for the Republican Senate endorsement in 2016, and although not successful, it gave the 49-year-old a taste for what wanted to Minnesotans and needed

“Immigration is a big Problem now. I believe that a secure border; if you don’t have a country, you don’t have a border, and our border agents are doing a great job, but they are overwhelmed, and not to give the Congress you the tools you need,” he said. “But I would also like to see a path to citizenship for those under DACA; they couldn’t help they were brought here and need a shot to stay in order to be able to be here.”

Also, the father of a 5-year-old, he also stressed the importance of dealing with the ever-looming elephant in the room.

“This is a big worry I have is our national debt, and I would like to work with, bring this down. It should be a priority,” Kelley. “I have a 5 year old and the debt will be our children on the lap.”

And despite the ever-present political differences, he swore with Omar, the local policeman, run a “positive, fact-based campaign” that will not mean to attack or ridicule his opponent.

“I’m not going to bring controversy and scandal. I’ll know first-Hand the things that I know are in the community as an officer. I see a lot every day – homelessness, the opioid crisis; I want these things in the foreground and put some ideas on the table, how to deal with them,” Kelley added. “I want to do everything I can to the lives of the people better, I just want to sit and listen to people and make some positive changes.”
